Hey everyone! I just moved into a new house and got really excited about starting my garden. Yesterday, I planted some bulbs and seeds in big plant pots, but I realized too late that there are no drainage holes at the bottom. It rained all night, and now my pots are completely filled with water. I've tried to drain some of it, but I'm worried that I might have ruined the plants. What do you think? Am I too late to save them? I'm starting this gardening journey to help with my mental health, so I'd really appreciate any advice!

Don't stress too much! Your plants will likely be fine, but you definitely need to drill some drainage holes so you don’t end up with this issue again. Just watch the watering moving forward!
You should definitely check out gardening shows like Gardener's World or some YouTube videos that explain how to plant pots correctly. Besides drilling holes for drainage, it’s a good idea to put some stones at the bottom of your pots to prevent the compost from clogging the holes. Good on you for getting into gardening! It’s awesome for mental health!
Thank you sweetheart! I will xxx
I feel you on the struggles of starting out. What seeds did you plant? I've been gardening for years and still have failures each season! Don’t get discouraged; it’s all part of the learning experience. Sometimes, if things are tough, just take a break, tidy up the garden, or do something creative like painting!
I planted scatter seeds and sunflowers, but I've been having trouble with germination. Why do some seeds fail? xx

THANK YOU. Right.. drill got it. Thank you sweetheart xx
