Help! My Repotted Plant Is Struggling. What Did I Do Wrong?

Hey everyone! I just repotted a couple of my plants this week, and one of them seems to be doing fine, but the other one isn't looking so great. They're both next to a window where they get indirect sunlight, and I used a fast-draining soil mix to repot them. However, the struggling plant had a pretty shallow root system before because it was in a really small pot when I bought it. I'm worried that might be affecting it. I watered them both right after repotting, but I think I might have over-watered. Now, I'm letting it dry out a bit. I really don't want to lose this plant! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I agree with the last poster! Overwatering is a biggie for plant health, and if the soil is too dense, it can lead to root rot. Your plant may have been struggling before you got it, too. If you notice any mushy spots or yellowness in the leaves, those could be signs that it's not doing well. Check the roots if you can – healthy roots should feel firm. If they’re mushy, it might be best to let it dry out for a while and reconsider your watering schedule!

Definitely check those roots! You might be surprised at what you find.

Yeah, I had similar issues last year, and it turned out my plant was just overwhelmed after being repotted. Sometimes they just need a little TLC!

Hey! Sorry to hear about your plant troubles. It sounds like overwatering might be part of the issue, especially since you mentioned using fast-draining soil. Make sure the pot has proper drainage holes, and let the soil dry out fully before watering again. And don't stress too much if the roots were shallow; sometimes they just need a little time to adjust after a repot. Also, I’d recommend posting a picture so we can see its condition better! That always helps us give more specific advice.
