I just found some pests on my beloved rubber plant and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I noticed webs and tiny white dots on the leaves, which I initially thought were signs of aphids. Now, I'm worried I have spider mites instead. I'm really attached to this plant and might need to treat it and others nearby. Since I live in a rural area without access to neem oil, I'm considering removing the soil and submerging the plant in a bucket of water mixed with Dawn soap. Is this a good idea? Should I rinse it off afterwards and then replant it? Would appreciate any advice!

Are you sure it’s aphids? It really sounds more like spider mites to me. Could you post a picture so we can help identify it better?
I took a closer look and you're right, they're definitely spider mites. Can I still use the soap method to kill them?
No worries, spider mites are pretty easy to get rid of! When you water it, just take it to the sink and give it a good rinse. You can also use a neem spray if you can get your hands on it, just be sure to follow the instructions. You’ll handle this!
So I shouldn't use Dawn soap or anything? Would it harm the plant if I submerged it in soapy water?
