Help! My Toilet Supply Line is Leaking – What Can I Do?

Hey everyone! I recently replaced the flapper in my toilet tank and everything is working fine inside. However, I've noticed that the metal flexible supply hose is leaking at the connection point to the threaded pipe. The hose is older and has a conical-shaped rubber washer inside. I've tightened it down, but it's still leaking. I haven't used any Teflon tape yet. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If the leak is at the water supply connection and you're sure the washer is in good shape, consider replacing the whole supply line. Old hoses can degrade and might not seal well anymore, even if they seem fine. A new flexible supply line isn't too expensive and can save you from ongoing leaks! You should also ensure everything is tightly secured to avoid any water loss.

First off, make sure you identify where exactly the leak is coming from. Is it at the connection to the toilet or the water supply? If it's the toilet side, try loosening and re-tightening the connection to see if that helps. Also, check the washer; sometimes they wear out and need replacing. If the leak persists after that, Teflon tape can help create a better seal! You might want to give that a shot too.
