Hey everyone! I've been in maintenance for five years, mostly dealing with newer apartments, so I'm kinda stumped right now. I've never encountered a drain that couldn't be cleared with a simple zip-it tool. I managed to pull out a bunch of hair from the tub drain, but there's still a clog. When I tried again, the zip-it broke off inside the drain, which is super frustrating. My condo was built in 1968 and has a flip-up stopper. I was gonna remove it to get a better look, but it seems stuck and I don't want to risk breaking anything. I'm not sure how the plumbing is set up. Any suggestions on what to do next? Thanks!

It might not be a clog at all! Sometimes, the stopper can get stuck in the down position, causing slow drainage. Try putting some penetrating oil in through the overflow to loosen it up and see if that helps!
Try adding more water to the tub and use a toilet plunger! Make sure you plunge both up and down aggressively. That usually does the trick for most clogs.
Have you tried pulling the stopper assembly all the way out? It sounds like it might be slightly stuck, but getting it out could give you better access to clear the drain. Just be careful; you don’t want to break anything!
