I've got an older Whirlpool washing machine, probably around 10 years old, and I'm experiencing some serious drainage issues. Whenever I finish a load, my clothes end up soaking wet. I've tried to take apart the agitator to look for the drain filter, but only the top half came out and the base seems stuck. I've searched online for solutions, but I'm not having any luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've been through this too! Clear the auto sensor tube by loosening the top and blowing through it. That worked for me. I once replaced the auto sensor switch, but I think the real issue was just a blockage.
If I were to guess, the pump might be on its last legs. Replacing it is usually pretty straightforward.
It sounds like you’re dealing with a Whirlpool Direct Drive model, which are actually pretty easy to work on. I’d start by checking the water pump and the hoses connected to it. To access it, you can remove the screws on either side of the control panel and lift it up. Unplug the wire for the lid switch and then remove the metal clips on the sides. The whole top, sides, and front should come off, and you’ll find the water pump under the motor.
Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely check that out.

I noticed mine only had problems with really bulky items too. Might wanna keep that in mind.
