Help! My Window Boxes Froze – What Should I Do?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a situation. My girlfriend and I planted some window boxes on our deck in shoreline New Haven, CT, filled with various small flowers and herbs. We jumped the gun a bit, thinking the warm weather meant it was safe to plant, but it looks like we got hit by frost last night along with some intense wind. The topsoil seems frozen, and I'm worried about our seeds. Should I just start more seeds indoors or do you think there's a chance our current setup will survive? I've usually done well with pre-started plants in the past, but we're pretty new to this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

In your area, the last frost date is generally around Mother's Day, so it sounds like you may have jumped in a bit early. If it’s just seeds, they might still be okay, but it's risky. If they froze solid, they could be toast. I'd suggest starting more seeds indoors to ensure you have a backup. Just keep an eye on the forecast before your next planting!

Honestly, if it were me, I’d definitely replant and just move on. Germination can be tough, but it’s all part of the learning experience!
