Hey everyone, I need some advice. After a recent brief but heavy rainstorm, I noticed that my window is leaking from the inside. This is in a room that was added to our house, which we purchased back in May 2024. The leak isn't coming from the glass itself but rather from the wood trim above it. We soaked up the water with some towels, and thankfully, it stopped leaking once the rain ended. I'm really concerned about diagnosing and fixing this issue—any suggestions? I've also posted a couple of pictures to help visualize the problem.

It sounds like you've got a fairly serious issue on your hands. First, check the exterior around the window for any signs of poor flashing or sealing. Sometimes gutters overflowing or even roof leaks can cause water to seep in like this. I’d recommend taking some good outdoor pictures of the window area so folks can help you diagnose it better. Trust me, this could turn into a costly repair if you don’t get it sorted out soon!
