Help Needed to Repair Broken Dowel Hole in My Table

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here. I've got this table with leaves, and the part where the dowel fits has broken around the hole. I'm not sure what that area is called, but I really need advice on how to reassemble it and make the connection secure again. If anyone could guide me on how to fix this, that would be amazing! Also, I have some measurements: the dowel is 7mm or a quarter inch thick and about 39mm (or 1.5 inches) long. I really appreciate any help you can offer!

It seems like you’re having trouble posting those pictures! Without them, it might be a bit tricky to give specific advice, but I recommend using wood glue for small parts first. If the hole is too damaged, you might consider filling it with wood filler and redrilling for a new dowel. Let us know how the pictures go!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely try wood glue. I’m still figuring out how to post the pics.

Don't forget to sand down the area for a smooth finish before applying the glue or filler!
