We applied it last weekend, and the smell hit us hard – a weird mix of musty, poop, and ammonia permeates our entire apartment! We've got some soil to repot the plants, but honestly, that's a huge task. We're considering using charcoal dust or horticultural charcoal to manage the odor. Opening the windows has worked for me in the past! Letting some fresh air circulate can really help with odors. Maybe try that for a bit longer?
Adding a thin layer of perlite on top of your soil can not only help with that smell but also keep fungus gnats at bay. It's a win-win situation!
Apart from letting the plants dry out a bit, you could also try washing them. Giving them a good soak in the shower can help dilute the fertilizer and reduce the smell. Plus, it's a nice little refresh for your plants!
