I've got a problem with a stray cat that keeps visiting my garden. I've planted a variety of veggies like peas, onions, and strawberries, but this week, it's gone wild. It dug up my onions, peed on the garlic, and even pooped in the berries! The smell is awful, and it's really stressing me out, especially since I'm pregnant and trying to stay safe and healthy. I don't want to harm the cat or call a shelter because I'm worried my neighbors might get angry. Is there a way to save my garden now, and what should I do about the veggies?

A good trick is to put chili flakes in the soil where the cat digs. It won’t harm them, but they'll get a spicy whiff and hopefully stop visiting your garden.
Honestly, it’s best if you avoid handling the garden right now, especially with your pregnancy. I’m not sure about the safety of eating the veggies after washing them, so maybe consult your OB to be sure. It’s really tough, but your health comes first--try not to stress too much about the garden!
Yeah, I'm feeling really anxious too about it... I still want to salvage what I can, though. Never thought I’d have issues with cats!
You might want to try using mothballs around your plants or even using a water gun to spray the cat when it comes around. Just a heads up, though, mothballs can be toxic, so be careful with those!
Good point! I wouldn't want to harm anything, so I’ll definitely steer clear of that option.

That sounds like a great idea! I heard about some sprays too, but I worry that rain would wash them away.
