Hey everyone, I recently moved into a new house and while inspecting above a register where I wanted to install some heavy-duty hooks, I found a tear in what I believe is the PVC liner of my shower. This is right next to my home office. I've noticed water leaking in my kitchen cabinet a couple of times, but it stopped after my first week. I'm concerned that this might be where the leak was coming from. Do any of you have suggestions on how to repair the tear in the shower liner? I think it's PVC, but I'd like to get some advice before I start any repairs. Thankfully, the other repairs in the house seem to be decently done, but this tear has me worried. My alternative plan was just to keep an eye on it and manually remove any water that builds up if it doesn't become too much. Here's a picture of the tear: [https://imgur.com/a/g6Wbl2y](https://imgur.com/a/g6Wbl2y)

Yikes, that doesn’t sound good! From what I can see in your photos, it seems like whoever installed your shower didn't do a great job. I wouldn’t use the shower until you’ve sorted this out. Do you have a budget for repairs? If not, do you have some DIY skills? You might want to demo it yourself; it’ll be messy, but then you can get a more accurate estimate from both a plumber and a shower installer later on. Just a heads up, your kitchen ceiling and cabinets might also need some work if the leak has been ongoing.
Wait, so are we talking about a shower CURTAIN here? What exactly is a PVC shower liner if not a curtain? Why not just replace that?
Reddit can be wild sometimes. Don't worry about the downvotes; just focus on getting your shower fixed!

It's a liner behind the wall and under the tile, so it’s a bit more complicated than just replacing a curtain. I'm trying to figure out if I need to tear it out for a complete replacement.
