Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with one of my doors at home. I've got several doors that have dropped over time, and I've managed to fix most of them by simply adjusting the strike plates. I usually test if the door latches into the bore hole before tweaking the strike plate. However, there's this one stubborn door that's giving me trouble. I've removed the strike plate to check, and the door does seem to latch into the bore hole, but if I push it with a little force, it pops open. I've tried chiseling the bore hole larger and adjusting things, but I'm still stuck. Any suggestions on what I might be missing or how to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help!

First off, you should definitely put the strike plate back on. After that, check if the door is properly aligned. Sometimes you can adjust by working with the hinges. Remove the screws from the bottom hinge on the side that faces the door frame and stick a piece of flat cardboard in there before putting the screws back. This should tilt the door slightly and might help it latch better. If that’s close but not quite right, you can try adding another piece of cardboard for extra lift.
Could it be that the bolt latch is installed backwards? Just double-check to make sure it's the right way around.
