Hey everyone! I've got some awesome raised bed containers but I'm a bit stuck on how to set them up outside in my yard. The previous owner had it all landscaped with fabric and rocks, but there are also a ton of weeds. I was considering moving the landscaping rocks and peeling back the fabric to just set the containers on the raw dirt. However, I found some instructions that suggest leaving some fabric and adding more rocks for better drainage. What's the best approach? Should I set it up on the rocks and fabric, or go through the hassle of removing everything? I want to get it right since I know it's tough to move these beds once they're in place!

I agree with going for the raw dirt! It sounds like a pain to clear those rocks, but your plants will thank you later. If the fabric isn't working for weeds, definitely replace it with something more durable. Your plants will have a better chance to grow strong without that heavy obstruction.
Honestly, I'd recommend peeling back the landscaping fabric and removing those rocks. It’s better to get your raised beds directly on the soil for drainage and root growth. If you're worried about weeds, you could lay down a fresh piece of fabric underneath your beds. That way, you'll have a solid base and some protection from the weeds. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions! I guess I’ll have to tackle the rocks and then think about fresh fabric. Appreciate the help!
