How are people managing to buy soil with these crazy prices?

I bought my first large plant tub in 2019 and used lawn cuttings to fill it, which worked great for a couple of years. But now, with the heat wave affecting grass growth, I've decided to set up a new raised bed for herbs. I was shocked to discover how much garden soil and expanded clay balls cost now! For the 190L raised bed, it looks like I'll need about 176€ (~208 USD)! Is it just me, or are prices skyrocketing? How can I fill my raised bed without breaking the bank? I thought about digging dirt from the forest, but that seems extreme, and I'm worried about legality. Should I just grab some clay balls and a small bag of soil and use my organic waste instead for fertilizing over time? Looking for budget-friendly tips!
