How Can I Clean My Hand Sandpaper Without It Clogging?

I've been working on a long, tedious project and my finer grit sandpaper (like 400 and 600 grit) keeps getting clogged. I've seen people use rubber sticks for cleaning sandpaper on machines like belt sanders, but I'm wondering if something like that could work for hand-sanding too. Any tips or recommendations?

Those sandpaper erasers are really worth the few bucks! They can extend the life of your sandpaper by at least ten times, making them a total game changer. I ordered some from Temu and they've been great—cheap and effective!

I recommend trying out Mirka Abranet sanding cloth. It's a mesh that cleans up really easily and lasts a long time. I got rolls of different grits—120, 240, 400—and I've barely worn them down. Just a heads up, though, the price has gone up a bit!

If you've got a shop vacuum, you can try using that to clean your sandpaper. It does a pretty decent job of getting the dust and debris cleaned off!
