How Can I Clean Up Silica Sand Residue from My Patio?

Asked By PatioPro007 On

Hey everyone! I recently reapplied silica sand to my patio pavers because they were in need of some maintenance. I followed all the recommendations carefully—used a blower before rinsing with water, and so on. However, there's still a fine layer of dust everywhere that I can feel on my feet and shoes. Sweeping doesn't seem to make a difference, and I'm hesitant to power-wash it since that might undo all the work I just put in. Does anyone have tips or tricks for getting rid of this fine dust? I'd love to be able to enjoy the nice weather out there! Thanks!

Are you sure you're using silica sand and not polymeric sand? There’s a big difference in how they might clean up!

You're right. I think it's polymeric sand. How is that different?

Hey, have you tried using a sticky roller? It might pick up that fine dust without disturbing your hard work. I know it sounds a bit unconventional, but it could help!

I mean, that almost seems like a good idea. But it also seems like you're just kidding.
