How Can I Completely Get Rid of Wisteria?

A few years back, I cut down a large wisteria plant but it just keeps coming back. I've tried everything: cutting the stump, using full-strength Roundup, pouring salt, and even adding diesel. I've repeated these methods over and over, but every year, those pesky runners show up again! Does anyone have any tips on how to totally eradicate this invasive plant?

Have you tried fire? It sounds drastic, but sometimes that can really work, especially for a stubborn plant like wisteria.

Nah, I've done that too. I let it dry out completely and even covered it with dry leaves and gasoline before burning it. But guess what? The next year, I’m still seeing those little sprigs! 😤

You might need to tackle the stump. Wisteria is notorious for coming back even after heavy pruning. Are you sure you’ve removed enough of the stump? They’re resilient little buggers!

I get it! The 'stump' is pretty much gone, but the problem is that shoots keep popping up several feet away from where it used to be. They're even coming back like 10 feet away! 😩
