I have had success with this! I placed one of my routers inside an IKEA wall cabinet, and another sits on a shelf hidden behind a piece of fabric art. The signals still transit perfectly! For those messy wires, bundle them together using Velcro straps to keep things neat. If you really want to distract from them, a few decorative items in front can work wonders.
