How Can I Control a 24V Fan to Run After My 120V Thermostat-Controlled Fan?

I'm working on a project where I have a 120V fan that gets controlled by a thermostat. I want to add a 24V fan that will start at the same time as the main fan but will continue to run for an additional 10 minutes after the main fan shuts off. Could anyone share some advice on schematics or off-the-shelf circuit board solutions for this setup? Thanks a lot!

First, you should confirm that you have a 24V power supply that can handle your fan's requirements. I suggest looking into an off-delay relay, which should help you achieve what you need. They come in multifunction models, so make sure to check the manual to ensure it has the capabilities you’re after. Also, could you provide more context on whether this setup is for personal use or something industrial? That could help with the advice you receive.

Yes, I do have a 24V power supply, and this is for personal use. I found a suitable off-delay relay online and was considering how to connect it based on a schematic I found.

You might need to wire the 24V power supply directly to the 120V fan so that whenever it turns on, the 24V fan will activate too. But just a heads up, this setup would turn off the 24V fan at the same time as the 120V fan, which doesn't fit your plan of having it run longer after the main fan shuts down.

I get that, but I want the 24V fan to run for an extra 10 minutes after the 120V fan turns off. Any thoughts on how to make that happen?
