I'm working hard on my garden DIY project and feeling pretty proud of my progress! However, I just uncovered a huge patch of nettles, and they're starting to come back strong. I have kids, so I want to make sure they're safe from any stings. What can I do to handle these nettles effectively?

Make sure to get those roots out! If they're intact, they'll come back quickly. Try using a garden fork to pull the yellowish roots out in long strands; it's usually not too tough, especially if your soil isn’t too dense. Just keep at it!
To beat nettles, you really need to keep on top of those fresh sprouts as they come up. Pull them out quickly to exhaust the plant! It takes some effort, but it's worth it in the long run.
Why not turn them into a delicious dish? Young nettles can be cooked like spinach, and if you start enjoying the taste, you'll be more motivated to keep pulling them out! Just make sure to harvest them before they flower.
