How Can I Cover These Bright LED Exterior Lights?

I recently had some really harsh and bright LED lights installed outside my place, and they're giving me a serious headache even with the curtains closed! It seems like the electricians went for the cheapest option, which I believe are non-dimmable and fixed at 4000k. There are six of these lights, and I'm desperate for a way to tone them down. I can't swap out the bulbs since they have multiple LED boards, and talking to my landlord isn't really a great option because he's a bit of a cheapskate. I'm thinking about making a cover—maybe something like a metal mesh ring to help diffuse the light? I just want to find a solution to get some peace and darkness back, especially as these lights feel way too intense. Any ideas?

You could definitely try using window film! It can help to diffuse the light and make it a little less intense. Also, check if the LEDs can be adjusted to a warmer tone—sometimes they're set up so you can change the color temperature with a simple switch!

Yeah, I was thinking the same! Window film can really make a difference when it comes to bright lights.

Honestly, if it’s that bad, you might as well just swap the lights yourself without telling them. If they ask, just say, 'Oh, I thought you replaced them!' It could save you a headache in the long run!

Haha, I might just do that! Worth trying anything at this point.

If you can't replace the lights, consider making a custom shade to block out the horizontal light. A metallic or opaque material that allows light to shine downward could work well—something that fits around the fixture without making it too hot. Just be careful to pick a material that can handle any heat!
