I'm interested in making Lichtenberg figures in plexiglass or acrylic at home, but I don't have access to a particle accelerator. Most of the information I find says you need one, but I know there's another way involving high voltage. I'm aware that high voltage can be dangerous, and I'm committed to staying safe while I experiment. Could anyone guide me on the right equipment I should buy or methods I should try?

Also, check out some DIY videos online; they can be really helpful! Just be extra cautious when working with high voltage, and ensure you're using proper safety gear. Happy experimenting!
You can use a neon sign transformer to generate the high voltage you need for Lichtenberg figures. Just make sure to do your homework on how to use it safely before you start experimenting. It's important to avoid microwave oven transformers (MOTs) since they can be super dangerous due to high current along with high voltage. Play it safe and good luck!

Thank you for the advice!
