I recently got a new fridge, but it needs an extra 1/4 inch of space to avoid rubbing against the wall when the door is opened more than 45 degrees. I've tried using masking tape and an adhesive cushioning strip to protect the wall, but they only lasted a day or two. I'm looking for solutions to this problem that don't involve buying a new fridge. Any ideas?

If it's not an exterior wall and you can access it, maybe consider cutting out some drywall where the door rubs and creating a little nook. It's a quick DIY fix and can be done in just a couple of hours with basic tools!
One extreme solution could be to actually remove part of the wall and then rebuild it 1/4 inch to the right. It's a big job, though, especially if you're not experienced with construction, so choose wisely!
Yeah, that wall is a major part of the kitchen layout. Keep this in mind for your future renovations!
Have you checked if your fridge has a reversible door? Sometimes adjusting the door can save you a bit of space.
Unfortunately, it's a side-by-side fridge, so the doors can't be switched around.

Good idea! But pulling the fridge out will be quite the challenge in our busy household.
