My neighbor keeps insisting that I trim a tall tree that crosses our property line and is touching his house. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to hire an arborist right now. What should I do to get my neighbor to stop bothering me about this?

In many places, if that tree is on his side of the property line, he’s responsible for what happens with it. Just make it clear that the responsibility is on him if he wants something done.
If the branches are on his side, he can cut them back. Honestly, if it bothers him that much, maybe suggest he handles it himself? Just let him know it’s his issue to tackle.
Technically, your neighbor can take care of any limbs hanging over his property without needing your approval. You can just let him know that hiring someone isn't something you're able to do at the moment.
Whoa, if the tree is hitting his second-story roof, I’d think about finding a compromise. Maybe offer to split the costs or just have a straightforward chat. Sometimes, a little honesty can clear the air.
