Hey everyone! I'm a first-time homebuyer and recently had a fence installed, which left me with a big pile of gravelly dirt and rocks. The dirt isn't very good quality and is filled with all sorts of rocks, making it hard to find a use for it. I'm looking for advice on how to get rid of it effectively. Currently, I've been putting it in cardboard yard waste bags, but I'm not confident about how much weight they can hold. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation or have suggestions on the best way to move and dispose of this?

Definitely consider posting it on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist as "Free Fill Dirt." Landscaping companies often come looking for fill dirt, so you might get lucky and someone will pick it up for you. Just make sure you mention the rocks in it, as this can affect interest. It’s commonly used behind retaining walls, so just be clear in your post.

But does the presence of rocks make it less desirable? And wouldn’t I have to move the dirt to the front yard for someone to pick it up?
