How Can I Dispose of Extra Dirt from My Backyard?

Asked By SunnyDay22 On

Hey everyone, I recently did some work in my backyard and replaced a portion of dirt with cement. Now, I've got a bunch of extra dirt lying around that I need to get rid of. I'm looking for recommendations on how to dispose of it, whether it's a service I can call or a good way to get rid of it myself. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Have you considered renting a dumpster? You can fill it with the excess dirt and then the dumpster company will take it away for you. It can be a straightforward solution if you have a lot to get rid of.

Contacting a junk removal service is another good route. They can come to your place and take care of the dirt for you. It's definitely more direct than trying to handle it yourself!

You might want to try offering the dirt as fill for anyone in your area who could use it. Platforms like Facebook Marketplace can help you connect with local people looking for dirt. If that's not an option, calling a landscaping company could also be useful—they might have some ideas on how to deal with it.
