How can I effectively control white clover in my yard?

Hey everyone! I live in PA, near Philly, and I've noticed white clover taking over my yard. There's a bunch of it popping up everywhere and it's really spreading fast. I've attached a link to some pics so you can see what I'm dealing with. I've read that some people just leave it alone, but I'm worried it will take over completely and even spread to my neighbor's yard. I have a lawn service that cuts my grass weekly, so I can't do a lot in terms of specific mowing. Is there some kind of spray I can use that will target the clover without harming my grass?

I've read that leaving the clover can actually be beneficial! It’s good for the bees and helps add nitrogen back into the soil. But if it’s really taking over, you might want to get rid of it. Consider switching your lawn style to something more natural—it can be better for the environment and requires fewer chemicals!

That’s true, but how do I handle it if it’s becoming a real problem in my yard?

If you’re set on controlling the clover, using a product like Tenacity can work well. Just mix it with water and a surfactant, and spray it with a good nozzle. It should help without harming your grass too much!

I’d suggest using Triclopyr if your grass is well established. There’s a product called Ortho Chickweed, Clover, and Oxalis Killer that has it. You could also try a 3-way broadleaf killer, but it might not be as effective. If you're planning to seed any grass, Mesotrione could be a safer choice, as it won't harm new seeds too much.
