I'm looking for some tips on how to get rid of my lawn without having to dig it out. I can't do that physically, so I'm wondering if there's a way to kill it off by covering it with something or using a no-dig method. Once the lawn is gone, will I be able to plant new greenery in its place?

Check out sheet mulching with cardboard! It's a great no-dig method that works really well for preparing borders and beds. Just layer down some cardboard, and it'll smother the grass over time.
You definitely want to think about what you plan to grow afterward. Are you thinking about wildflowers, a flower bed, or maybe some shrubs? That can guide how you tackle the lawn removal.
If you cover the lawn with plastic, like DPM, and keep it weighed down with bricks, it’ll exclude light for a few months, which should do the trick! Glyphosate weed killer can be effective too, but I hear you on not wanting to use chemicals.
