We're living in a townhouse where our porch sides are essentially bounded by the sides of the neighboring houses. We want to create a more indoor-like feeling in our screened-in porch by adding some real walls, but we want to avoid attaching anything to the exterior siding of our neighbors' homes. I'm curious about how we could safely create walls in this space. If we build our own wall, there might be a small gap left between our wall and the neighbors' house—would that cause any problems? Is it possible to construct a wall anchored only to the floor and ceiling? I'm looking for advice and creative ideas on how to tackle this!

Instead of building walls, consider getting pop-up tents designed for outdoor use. They can fit your porch's dimensions and have vinyl sides that can zip down. It's a little unconventional, but it could work well and won’t interfere with your neighbors' siding.
You might want to check if your HOA allows this. Usually, attaching anything to shared siding is a no-go, and you could run into issues with moisture, pests, and weather. It's a complicated situation, and you don't want to create a problem for yourself later on. Best to look into alternatives that keep things safe for everyone.
How about using room divider panels made from outdoor-friendly materials? They are usually less expensive than building actual walls and give you the flexibility to move them around. Plus, they can help hide any storage you want to keep on your porch!
