How Can I Fill a Vertical Gap Between My Foundation and Concrete Slab?

Asked By CreativeCat123 On

I've got a vertical gap between my foundation wall and a nearby concrete slab, and I'm noticing that moles are pushing soil out from this gap. What's the best way to fill it up so that the moles can't kick out any more dirt? Any tips would be appreciated!

I recommend using a backer rod and a flexible sealant to close the gap. This should prevent moles from accessing it and kicking out soil. Just ensure that the gap is clean before you fill it for the best results!

You can generally use a backer rod followed by Sika leveling compound to fill that gap. Just make sure to carefully apply it so it seals well. It’d help to see what the gap looks like though, since vertical gaps can be tricky. Maybe consider posting a picture for better advice!

Yeah, the visual really helps in these cases. Just be careful with the application!
