How Can I Finally Get Rid of Fungus Gnats for Good?

Hey everyone! I've got about 35 houseplants, and I'm really struggling with a fungus gnat problem. A month ago, I noticed them after repotting my plants with new soil. I tried using diluted peroxide, but they keep coming back. I've isolated the original plant, but it seems like the gnats have spread. I'm feeling pretty discouraged and even considering getting rid of my plants! I'd love some tips on how to completely eliminate these pesky gnats, their larvae, and also how to prevent them from returning. Any fast-acting advice would be really appreciated. Thanks a bunch! 🙂

Definitely try using mosquito bits! Mix them in the soil and use them for watering. They target the larvae, while the yellow sticky traps help with the adult gnats. Just a heads up, it may take a few weeks to see the full effect, but it really works!

Have you tried mosquito bits or dunks? They work wonders for killing the eggs and larvae in the soil. If you're in Europe, there are these Culinex tablets that do the same thing! Using those while also keeping sticky traps around for the adult gnats can really help turn the tide.

I've been through this too! What worked for me was using a multi-pronged approach. First, I got a ton of those yellow sticky traps and placed them around the plants that were worst affected. I put some directly on the soil and also stuck some in the dirt like a little stop sign to catch all the gnats.

Next, I cut back on how often I watered. When I did water, I made sure to do it well but only when absolutely necessary, and I kept adding those sticky traps where I saw the most activity.

Lastly, just give it some time. It was a pain, but after a few months, I stopped seeing them at all. You got this!
