Hey everyone! I've got a hole in my siding that goes straight through into my attic, and I need some advice on how to repair it. I want to ensure that I do it right and keep any unwanted critters out. I've attached a photo of the damage for reference. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First things first, you should definitely make sure to remove any animal that might be in your attic before patching things up. You don't want to lock it in there!
What if I patch the hole temporarily to keep it from getting in further, then focus on removing it?
