How Can I Fix a Jacket with a Big Hole?

I got this awesome jacket for just 25 cents, but there's a pretty big hole with insulation spilling out. Since I'm not really good at sewing, I'm looking for an alternative way to cover it up. I was thinking a large sticker could work, but I'm not sure how well that would hold up against the weather! Any suggestions?

You should definitely check out Tenacious Tape! It's specifically designed for repairs like this. Just a heads up, it might cost more than the jacket itself, but it’s super effective. You could also look into getting a fun patch instead! Iron-on patches can add a nice touch and are relatively easy to apply.

Can I find tape like that at a craft store? I was considering putting a funky patch on it instead.

For a quick fix, using Gorilla Tape could be a good route! Just clean the area first with a bit of isopropyl alcohol, then apply the tape and warm it a bit with a hairdryer to make it stick better. This should hold up nicely! Another option is to visit a local alteration shop; they can patch it up for you without breaking the bank.

If you're interested in a DIY fix, try learning the darning stitch! It’s really not that hard and can save you some cash. Alternatively, patch kits are available and can be great, especially if they use adhesive.

Watching a YouTube video could also be a great way to learn some basics before attempting the patch!
