Hey folks! I recently bought a house and I'm really enjoying it. However, there's a troublesome spot in my yard near the gate that becomes a muddy mess every time it rains. It's on a flat lot, and the area near the fence tends to get covered in mud and moss, especially in the shade. I'm on the lookout for some creative solutions to fix this issue. I was thinking of just laying down gravel, but I want something that looks nicer and won't upset the HOA. I'd appreciate any suggestions! Thanks in advance for your help!

Paver stones surrounding pebbles could be a stylish and practical option too. It gives a nice look while helping with drainage.
You might want to consider putting down some nice pavers on either side of that muddy area. They not only look great, but they can also help with drainage.
Using large pavers with proper drainage would also work well. It's functional and can look really appealing if done right.
If you're leaning toward gravel, I highly suggest putting down a geogrid first. This will keep the gravel from sinking into the soil and give you a solid walkway.
