Hi everyone! I had contractors pour a concrete patio pad about a year ago, and unfortunately, they didn't get the slope right. Now, water tends to pool in uneven areas after it rains, leading to puddles and unsightly black stains. The pad is quite thick—about 1 foot—and has no consistent slope, just some uneven spots where water collects. I'm looking for budget-friendly DIY solutions to improve drainage. I'm open to ideas like grinding, resurfacing, or even drilling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You could try using a concrete saw to cut drain slots in the pad. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to clean those out regularly, plus they’ll be visible forever. It's a bit of a commitment!
I've never seen a concrete patio slab as thick as 12 inches. That seems like overkill! For a simple fix, you might consider surface grinding, but if the uneven areas are more than a quarter inch, it could be a messy project and the results might not turn out as you'd hope.
It's actually a common issue with patios. As a quick fix, just cleaning the pooling spots regularly can help a bit. For a more permanent solution, if you really want all the water to drain off, you might need to create a serious slope, which could involve some heavy work.
