I recently bonded a piece of Formica to a wooden board for my dining table top, and while it looks great, I've noticed that the board has started to warp a bit. This is especially concerning since I'm using a base designed for a glass top. Does anyone have suggestions on how to flatten it out?

When you attach that plastic laminate to one side of a wooden board, it can mess with how the wood interacts with moisture. The side without laminate expands and contracts more than the side with it, which leads to warping. Your best bet might be to slightly wet the board, clamp it down to get it flat, and then add laminate to the other side to balance it out. Just keep in mind that it could be a tricky fix. Laminate usually works better with engineered materials like MDF, which handle moisture differently.
Could putting a coat of Rubio Monocoat on the underside help stabilize it?

If I had gone with MDF instead of pine, what would you recommend as a good alternative for future projects?
