How Can I Fix Dipping Bricks Around My Driveway?

Asked By BrickBuster92 On

I just bought a house and noticed that the bricks surrounding the driveway have dipped below its level. They're currently just laid on dirt, and I'm looking for the easiest way to fix this without having to lay down a complicated base like you would with pavers. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you want a proper fix, you really should lay down a good base. Start with compacted dirt and then add gravel for drainage. To fill in the gaps, using sand can help, especially if you're trying to keep the work minimal. It might not be a quick fix, but it'll prevent future issues.

I get it, you want to keep the workload light. But if you don't plan to do it right, it might not be worth the time at all. Also, consider using polymeric sand if you decide to fix it. You might want to bring in a landscaping pro to get a quote, especially since the setup seems a bit off from the start.

Honestly, the only reliable way to fix it is to remove the bricks and properly lay a foundation. If you just try to patch it up without doing it correctly, you’ll run into the same problems down the line.
