How Can I Fix Erosion Around My New Home?

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum and wanted to reach out for some advice. My husband and I just bought our first home together, and during the inspection, we found that there's some erosion on the side of the house, particularly in a small area where we used to keep our trash bins (we've moved them now, just a side note). I'm looking for suggestions on what materials or methods to use to fill in that area and build it up to prevent further erosion and protect our foundation. Thanks in advance for your help!

First off, are you directing your downspouts properly? A lot of erosion can happen if water is pooling near your foundation. Since you're getting gutters installed soon, make sure the downspouts won’t lead water back toward the house!

Yeah, we're prioritizing the gutters! We don't get much rain in Austin, but the inspector noted the foundation issue in spite of that.

It might be a good idea to consult a soil engineer—they can give you specific recommendations based on your situation.
