How can I fix mice damage to the walls in my rental?

I'm currently living in a rental home and have discovered some mouse damage. There's a hole in the wall that looks like it might have once been where an outlet was, but it just has a big circle now, painted over with two screw holes. I'm a bit hesitant to stuff steel wool in there in case it was an actual outlet. I've also noticed several other chewed spots on the walls—one is quite large—though they aren't fully through the wall yet. I really want to patch these up and repaint, but I don't know what color the original paint is or what to use for filling the holes. Any tips would be greatly appreciated because I want to have people over, but these spots are too noticeable!

I totally get your concern! But since it’s a rental, it’s best to just call the owner and have them take care of it. Attempting repairs yourself could complicate things, especially after what happened to you in your last place. Let them handle the repairs so you can avoid any liability later on. Good luck!

Yeah, I get that! I just thought maybe there'd be a quick fix so I wouldn’t have to wait. How do I even contact them about this? I mean, could it really take long?

First things first, definitely let your landlord know about the mouse situation and the damage! They should handle pest control and repair any issues in the wall since it’s a rental. You don’t want to take on repairs that should be covered by them.
