How Can I Fix Misaligned Sofa Legs Without Ruining My Couch?

I recently had a nice couch delivered, but the delivery team didn't install the legs properly. They're not flush with the edge and are a bit crooked, which is really bothering me! I want to take them off, align them correctly, and then re-drill the screws. However, I'm worried about messing up the existing holes and making them unusable. I've read that I can use wooden dowels and glue to fill the holes, but is there a better method to ensure this goes smoothly? I can provide pictures if needed!

To fix the screw holes, a good technique is to drill out the existing holes so they're the same size as a wooden dowel and insert that with glue. Once the glue is set, trim flush with the surface and then you can drill in new holes for your legs. While using toothpicks and glue might work, the dowel method is definitely the more reliable choice, even if it takes a little longer.

Absolutely, putting in a dowel is worth the extra effort! Just make sure to drill the new holes slightly larger than the dowel's diameter so they fit well.

Will this method hold up well if I need to drill into that area again later? Just want to make sure it'll stay sturdy.
