I have a tilt and turn window that's currently shut. When I tried to open it by turning the handle upwards, it over-rotated and now the locking mechanism is jammed, so I can't turn it in either direction. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I’ve dealt with similar windows before. What usually works for me is to push the window as close as possible, then gently move the handle through all its positions while applying a bit of pressure on the window itself. Sometimes it just needs a little coaxing to snap back into place. Give it a few tries and see if it helps!

I’ve been trying that, but it won’t budge. The handle is stuck in the upward position, and it feels like the internal mechanism is turning without actually moving anything. I can’t pull it back down or turn it to the side because it hits the wall.
