Hey everyone, so my adventurous 7-year-old was trying to swing over a pit of fluffy pillows using a string tossed over our ceiling fan blades. The fan is now seriously wobbling and the blades are definitely misaligned. Is there a way to fix this and get it back to normal, or do I need to replace the whole ceiling fan?

Sounds like a bit of a mess! If the blades are bent, you might just be able to replace them. If your kiddo managed to knock the whole fan off-center, though, you could be in for a bigger fix. It might be best to get a pro to check it out since there could be issues with the wiring or the ceiling structure as well. Safety first with wobbly fans, right?
You might just be able to lift the fan gently and twist it left or right. It could be that it's just out of the bracket. If one of the metal arms is bent, replacing that arm can be an easy fix. Just remember, if it still wobbles after your adjustments, it could be time for a new fan. And hey, if you do end up buying a new one, make sure your kid helps with the assembly!
If you want to try fixing it yourself before going for a replacement, first make sure to turn off the fan. Grab a yardstick and hold it up against the ceiling next to the fan. While moving the fan by hand, see how each blade lines up with the ruler. Gently bend any blades that are lower than the others. If needed, you can add some weights, like coins, to balance it out once they're aligned.
