I recently had some flooding in my home that caused loud squeaks in my subfloor, and this issue continued even after I replaced the original floors with new hardwood. My contractor said he would fix the squeaking, but that never happened. I don't have access below the floors since they're in between the 3rd and 2nd floors. I've tried using baby powder and other lubricants with no success, and while I've used Squeek No More screws, they only helped in the areas where I could locate a joist. There's still quite a bit of creaking in the spots between the joists. I'm looking for any solutions to fix these squeaky areas without having to remove parts of the floor or ceiling. Would using the Squeek No More screws at a steep angle toward the nearest joist work?

Sounds like a tough spot to be in. If the vocal squeaks are from the subfloor itself and not wall-related, your options are limited. Be careful with the screw angles; they can sometimes make things worse if not done right. Besides that, regular maintenance on any neighboring areas can help over time, but it seems you're looking for a direct fix. Have you considered using a sound-dampening underlayment under your hardwood? It might not fix the squeak, but it could absorb some noises.
I hadn’t thought of that! Might help to dampen any sound in the meantime while I figure out the squeak issue.
