How Can I Fix the Gap in My Door Effectively?

Asked By User1234!@ On

I've got a gap at the bottom of my door that's letting in a bit of water, and I'm wondering what's the best way to fix it. Would using a small piece of weather stripping be enough, or do I need to look for something more robust? I've shared a video showing the issue here: [https://imgur.com/a/cWTv0sS](https://imgur.com/a/cWTv0sS). Any advice?

If the weather stripping is relatively new and in good shape, a small piece should work for now. But keep an eye on it—if you notice any draft or water coming in, you might want to swap it out for something a bit sturdier down the line.

For that gap at the bottom, I recommend replacing it with a new door bottom that has a drip edge, like the ones from your hardware store. It seems like the sides might need new weather stripping too, especially where the sun is shining through. You might want to consider doing the whole side for better insulation. Hope that helps!

That sounds like a solid plan! A drip edge should definitely keep more water out. Just make sure to check the condition of the side weather stripping too for a complete fix.
