Hey everyone! I recently had three-pane slider doors installed by MI Windows for about $1,200, but it's been a nightmare. After a Low E failure, they replaced the doors under warranty, but it cost me a lot to install. Since then, my electric bill has jumped by $40 every month, and I've noticed these massive gaps under each door section—over an inch wide! I called the company for help, and they sent some sweeps, but they're way too short. I'm struggling to find long enough brush sweeps to cover these gaps. Any suggestions on how to seal them properly? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like the frame might be the issue, especially if the gap is consistent across all sections. It’s possible that the frame was oversized compared to the sliders, and that can create significant gaps. You should definitely push for a warranty claim—it might help cover some repair costs. Make sure the manufacturer knows it's affecting your electric bill too.
For those big gaps, I’d suggest checking out weatherstripping kits that are designed for sliders. Some come in longer sizes that might fit your needs. Also, look into using foam tape or a combination of sweeps and caulking to prevent drafts. These can be cheaper and easier fixes that might help until you get a more permanent solution.
Great idea! I’ll check out the weatherstripping kits. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the advice! I did push for a warranty claim before, and they replaced the doors but didn’t fix the frame issue. It’s really frustrating!
