I recently had some fake grass installed in my backyard, and now I'm facing a problem with water pooling in my basement. The installation did not include a French drain, and the area was filled with two types of rocks that have been leveled somewhat. The grading seems off, and I need to know what steps I should take to address this issue before contacting the installer. Here are some pictures I've taken from five steps apart at chest height; I can share more if needed. [Fake grass pics](https://imgur.com/a/jznkM0i)

It looks like your yard isn't graded properly, which is causing water to flow towards your foundation instead of away from it. Ideally, the first few feet next to your house should slope away, especially since the artificial grass doesn't absorb water like natural grass does. You might have gotten by with it before, but now the lack of absorption is making the issue worse. If I were the installer, I would probably say it’s not their fault since it sounds like regrading has not been done properly.

But isn't some grading included in the installation? I'm confused about why it's not the installer's responsibility.
