I'm trying to inoculate my bean seeds and could use some help. I usually soak the beans overnight, let them dry a bit on paper towels, and then sprinkle the inoculant on them. However, it seems like most of the inoculant ends up in the bottom of the bowl instead of sticking to the beans. Has anyone figured out a better method for getting the inoculant to adhere to the seeds?

Have you checked the instructions on your inoculant? The brand I use recommends mixing it with wet beans before letting them dry, which has worked better for me. That way, more of it sticks right to the seeds!
Just a thought—do you really need it? I've been gardening for a few years but never tried this. My parents used to garden without it, and I'm wondering if it's essential here.
I think it's worthwhile, especially if you're working with soil that hasn't been cultivated before. It's pretty inexpensive, so it might be worth the shot!
I’ve got an inoculant that you just sprinkle directly on the soil. Make sure to check how yours is designed to be used, as it might differ. You could also try mixing some with wet seeds and then sprinkling a bit more on top!
Yeah, I think I’ll do that too! Since it has an expiration date, I might as well use it up instead of being too frugal.
Yeah, I tried that too, but it still seemed like a lot just fell off. Maybe I need to adjust my method.
