Hey everyone! I have a goldfish plant thriving in a 7-inch pot that's been super productive with new growth and even produced a flower during winter. However, I'm facing an issue: while some stems are drooping nicely, several are stubbornly standing upright. They're long enough to flop over easily. I'm thinking about tying small weights or magnets to the stems to encourage them to grow downwards. Would this work? Or should I try something like wrapping thin wires around the stems to shape their growth? The pot's on my desk near a window, and I suspect that's why they're growing upwards. Eventually, I'd love to turn it into a hanging plant, so any advice on how to achieve that would be fantastic!

I recommend researching bonsai training methods. You could also use some glass beads or small cloth straps to add weight and help shape the stems over time. That might give you better control!
You might consider using bonsai training wire! It’s a pretty effective method for getting plants to grow in the direction you want. You can look up some bonsai wiring videos online; they have tons of tips. Just be careful with non-woody stems to prevent scarring!
I hadn’t heard of a goldfish plant before this, but your post made me curious, and now I want one! Thanks for sharing!
It sounds like your plant is just reaching for the light. If you lower the light source around your plant, it might start growing down instead of up. Just a thought!
