I've been dealing with an aphid infestation on my peach tree for a couple of weeks now. I've tried using bug sprays and washing the tree with soapy water, but the little pests just won't go away completely. Is there a more effective way to eliminate them or is it likely they'll disappear on their own?

Check if there are ants around your peach tree. Ants actually farm aphids for their honeydew, so getting rid of the ants could help reduce the aphid problem too. If ants are gone, it might help with the aphids as well!

What do you mean by 'farm'? We put down ant powder to deal with them getting into the house, and I haven't seen any ants lately.
